Hi! I’m Chris, the founder of the Play on Project.
I’ve been an athlete all my life, whether it’s competitive swimming or working out, I love being active. However, to me, sport is more than being active. It helps our tamariki develop confidence, discipline, and the ability to handle stress.
Along with sport, I’m passionate about sustainability and reducing waste. So, when I travelled around Aotearoa for swimming competitions and saw how many kids didn’t have the same opportunities I had, I wanted to see if I could do something.
At 15, I started the Play on Project to provide disadvantaged children with sports gear while promoting sustainability. I believe that every child should have access to sport. Being able to play my part has been very rewarding, and I look forward to helping more tamariki access sport.
